I finally submitted my book… and this is the message I couldn’t stop thinking about
A few weeks ago, I hit “send” on something that’s been living in my heart for years:
I submitted the final manuscript of my book. 💥
It still doesn’t feel real.
Writing this book wasn’t just about sharing strategies or stories, it was about owning every piece of my journey… even the ones I once wanted to hide.
Because for years, I thought my story disqualified me.
The moments I felt lost.
The seasons where I was scared to be seen.
The times I hustled for worth, doubted my voice, or shrunk to fit someone else’s comfort zone.
I told myself, “Once I’m more polished, more confident, more successful… then I’ll be ready to share.”
But here’s what I’ve learned:
Your story isn’t a liability. It’s your leadership.
The very parts I thought would push people away… became the reason they leaned in.
When I started sharing the messy middle, the imperfect truth, the raw and real me—something shifted.
That’s when connection deepened.
That’s when trust grew.
That’s when my impact began to multiply.
So if you’re holding back your story, waiting for it to be “done” or “clean” or “inspiring enough”... I want you to know this:
💬 You don’t need to share a perfect story. You just need to share an honest one.
Because someone out there is waiting for a version of you that looks like them—unsure, in process, figuring it out.
And when you show up anyway? That’s when everything changes.
So as I celebrate this book being DONE (cue the confetti 🎉), I’ll leave you with one question:
👉 What part of your story are you ready to stop hiding?
Cheering you on,
Barb 🤍
P.S. I cannot wait to get this book into your hands. If you’re not already, be sure you’re following along on LinkedIn and Instagram for the behind-the-scenes of what’s coming next!
