Why I’m So Glad I Said Yes

I’ll be honest, I was tired. This trip was supposed to be four days and, with a last-minute invite, it turned into six. I had every excuse not to add two more days to my calendar. But something in me said… get in the room.

And I’m so glad I listened. 🤍

Those extra days filled me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. It wasn’t just about hearing powerful keynotes from the stage. It was about the conversations in between. The one-on-one moments that reminded me what’s possible when you keep showing up, when you keep stretching, and when you choose growth even when it’s inconvenient.

Here are a few lessons that stuck with me...

  • Trent Shelton → Transparency leads to transformation. Real connection happens when we stop pretending.

  • Julie Solomon → To make it believable, we have to be and show up as our highest self. I can’t be here until I am her.

  • Jasmine Star → If I don’t quit, I can’t lose. A powerful reminder to keep going when it feels easier to give up.

  • Eric ThomasYour capacity is still waiting to be unlocked. None of us really know the limits of what we’re capable of.

  • Amy Porterfield → People want the human experience. At the end of the day, authenticity always wins.

Each of these words challenged me, stretched me, and left me inspired. And they reminded me that growth doesn’t happen in the comfortable, predictable places. It happens when we say yes, even when our calendar is full and our energy feels low.

So here’s my encouragement to you this weekend: Don’t underestimate the rooms you step into and the people you surround yourself with. Sometimes the exact breakthrough you’ve been waiting for is waiting there, too.

Cheering you on,
Barb 💞
