The Best Trip I “Shouldn’t” Have Taken

This week, I did something I “shouldn’t” have done.

My calendar told me not to.
My brain kept listing all the reasons it didn’t make sense.
But my heart? My heart said… go surprise your friend Tara Renze at her book launch.

So I did. 💖

And let me tell you, it was the BEST decision. I got to see Tara’s beautiful home, meet her husband and her two amazing boys, and get loved on by her sweet pups, Fog and Olive. I got a front row seat to watch her local community show up for her in such a big, heartfelt way. I left with our friendship feeling deeper and stronger than ever.

And because Tara and I don’t do anything halfway, she took me to get my very first piece of permanent jewelry. Now I have a matching bracelet that reminds me every single day that the best “investments” we’ll ever make are not in things, but in people.

Here’s what that trip reminded me: business and life move at the speed of relationships. And relationships don’t grow because we plan them perfectly. They grow because we show up. Not when it’s convenient. Not when it fits neatly into our schedule. But when it matters.

So here’s my Saturday challenge for you:
✨ Say yes to that coffee invite.
✨ Send the text you’ve been putting off.
✨ Or maybe even take that trip you think you “shouldn’t.”

Because the best strategy isn’t always found in your calendar or on your to-do list. It’s found in your heart. And that’s where true connection lives.

Cheering you on,

Barb 💞
